Expand your aerial repertoire by sharing the silks and static trapeze with a partner in this duo aerial workshop.
Pre-requisites: Must be able to climb and straddle invert from a hand grip in the air. You can base and/ or fly. You don’t need to bring a partner.

Mixed Acrobatics & Silks Seminar

Taught by Christine Van Loo

3:00pm – 7:00pm

During this 4-hour mixed seminar, students will expand their aerial silks and partnering acrobatics skill set. Expect new sequences, balances, counterbalances and lifts, unique individual and partnering elements, handstand techniques, creative performance enhancement techniques, and more. A special motivational speech by Christine is included.
Pre-requisites: For the aerial silks segment, students must be able to climb and straddle invert from a hand grip in the air. No pre-requisites are required for the partnering acrobatics – just a willingness to learn and have fun.

Christine Van Loo is a 7-time consecutive National Champion, Female Olympic Athlete of the Year, and Athlete of the Decade in acrobatic gymnastics. She was inducted into the USSA (acro-gymnastics) Hall of Fame and the World Acrobatics Society Gallery of Honor.  She was a trainer and performer on NBC’s Celebrity Circus. As a professional aerialist and acrobat she has performed in the 2002 Winter Olympics, at two Grammy Awards (with No Doubt and with Ricky Martin), at the American Music Awards (with Aerosmith), the Miss Universe pageant, and Paul McCartney’s European tour, as well as several feature films, television shows and music videos. She choreographed the aerials for Britney Spears World Tour and the Stars on Ice US tour. Currently she tours regularly performing with live symphony orchestras. She and her husband Jonathon Conant run Airborne Arts, an aerial retreat center in Costa Rica overlooking a 600 foot waterfall.
